Mission
The Coast Guard Family Organization (CGFO) was established for Coast Guard families, with a strong focus on the spouses of the members of the USCG. The goals of the Organization are philanthropic in nature.
The Board of Directors of CGFO consists of volunteers. The Board and counselors act to serve the Coast Guard family community in the way of education, providing of resources, and advocacy.
Counselors will offer financial and personal and development mentorship upon request by eligible Coast Guard spouses.
The quarterly newsletter shall be available to interested spouses may contact marketing@coastguardfamily.org to sign up.
Purpose and Funding
The CGFO shall serve and make efforts to provide support to Coast Guard spouses. Spouses who wish to apply for the annual scholarship or utilize the services of the staff at CGFO, must be a current spouse of a member of the United States Coast Guard (active duty or reserve). Certain information may be requested to verify a spouse's eligibility. Services are provided to eligible Coast Guard spouses free of charge.
Fundraising efforts shall be made to provide funds for various philanthropic ventures of the Organization, including, but not limited to the Coast Guard Spouse Scholarship.
At present, CGFO is not funded by any government source. Individual and corporate donations are welcome to support scholastic giving and continued training at CGFO. The CGFO receives no funding from any federal or state agency.
